John Urschel, an applied mathematician and former offensive lineman for the Baltimore Ravens shares his inspirational story of a life balanced between academics and athletics, logic and grit. He has co-written a book with his partner, Louisa Thomas, called Mind and Matter: A Life in Math and Football. Urschel is working on his Phd in Mathematics from MIT, and doing so meant that he left his life as a professional NFL football player - because he wanted to pursue his passion…. MATH!
