Public Memorial for Sam Jackenthal Saturday

There will be a public memorial service for Sam Jackenthal, the 16-year-old champion freestyle skier from Park City who passed away in Australia last week.  Chris "Hatch" Haslock, Sam's coach at Team Park City United, told KPCW Radio the service will be Saturday, October 10th at 6pm at the Utah Olympic Park.   Haslock said the Jackenthal family is still finalizing details and he will let the public know when more information is available.   Meanwhile Monday night, October 5, there is a gathering at the Eccles Center in Park City.  According to a post on the TPCU website, the event, "Let's Talk About Sam", is for the community to learn how to cope with trauma.  Counselors from each of the secondary schools in the Park City School District will be there.   Dr. Anne Tatti , a clinical psychologist and school psychologist in Park City will also be there as well as representatives from Valley Mental Health.    Haslock says he will open the meeting with some remarks about Sam, after which there will be a panel discussiom followed by breakout sessions.   Haslock says the entire community is invited to the event, which starts at 6pm.
